Sandbox Cams

   Here's one of my solutions to the challenge of holding work down for machining. For flat, smooth workpieces, a vacuum table usually works best, but what about small parts, odd shapes, rough surfaces, or those times when you don't want to run the vacuum (or don't have a vacuum table)? My Sandbox Cams might just fit the bill. The system consists of a machined aluminum hub which provides the hold-down force, and a Baltic-Birch plywood lever which creates the sideways force against the workpiece.
